Losing weight can be tough, especially when you first start out. Diets are all over the internet and television promising mega weight loss if you take this pill or that. The truth is the best way to lose weight is through regular exercise and a healthy diet. A Bowflex gym or Tread Climber can be an excellent place to start.
Tread Climber
Bowflex introduced a new kind of treadmill that combines the advantages of walking with a stair climbing elliptical movement. The machine can be used just as a treadmill when you first begin and as you advance, you can use the stair climber aspect.
To lose weight using this kind of Bowflex you will want to shoot for at least twenty minutes a day on a relatively high setting with the treadmill action. At this level, you will burn approximately 700 calories per hour, at twenty minutes per day six days per week, which is about a two-pound weight loss. Of course, you will need to eat sensibly and at the very least not increase your caloric intake. Ideally, you will be decreasing calories at the same time resulting in even larger weight loss potential.
When you feel comfortable, you can increase the difficulty by using the stair climber action. This smooth elliptical motion burns about 450 calories per hour on a normal setting, however since it is very low impact it will feel a lot less strenuous.
